About the Event

Run (317) is a series of five (5) races that take place around Indianapolis. Each race has a charity partner and the charity partner receives $1 from every race participant. It is the responsibility of the charity partner to staff all of the volunteer positions during the race. Partners In Housing is excited to be the charity partner for the first race on Monument Circle on Thursday, May 18th. We need a total of 100 volunteers to make the event go smoothly!

Run 317 Volunteers

Volunteers may select their role from the following at the link above:
Packet Pick-up/Post Race Support 5pm – 9pm – Volunteers are needed to pass out bib numbers, premium items, and goodie bags to those participants who have sent in their entry form by mail or through on-line registration. Volunteers should be able to handle a flurry of activity all at once.
Water Station 5:45pm – 8pm – Volunteers will be asked to fill and distribute water cups at location along the course. Volunteers need to make sure that water remains plentiful for all participants as well as clean the area after the runners/walkers have passed. Volunteers should dress comfortably and for the weather.
Course Marshal 5:30pm – 8pm – Volunteers are placed along the run/walk routes to direct and encourage runners. Volunteers will be driven onto the course and picked up once the event is over. The Course Marshall Captain will describe your exact duties depending on your designated course location. A bright orange vest of flag will be issued to each volunteer. Volunteers should dress comfortably and for the weather. Must be adults.
Runner Services 6pm – 8:15pm – Volunteers will hand out bottle water and pretzels at the finish line.
•Volunteers are needed to cheer on participants as they finish the race.
•Volunteers will organize refreshments (bottle water and pretzels.) and assist with refreshment distribution at the conclusion of the event. Crowd control and refreshment distribution will be organized so that the “back of the pack” runners / walkers are able to enjoy the refreshments at the finish. This duty also includes clean up, breakdown of boxes, and the collection of the bags.
•Volunteers will remove the timing chips from the participants shoes Runners will show
•Volunteers will place finisher medals around participants’ necks
ID Check/Wristband Distribution 5pm – 8pm – Volunteers will be placing wristbands on the participants after the security guard checks the participants’ ID to verify they are 21 or older.
One beer (21 and over) will be provided.

Comfortable clothing and shoes.  Tshirt will be provided.
