The American Red Cross Sound the Alarm Campaigns are a part of our preventative program which builds on building safe communities and spreading fire safety awareness. Team of volunteers pre-canvass designated neighborhoods to inform residents we will be in their area to canvass. Volunteers do not enter homes, but simply leave door hangers to build awareness of the services which will be offered in the following week’s canvassing event where the American Red Cross will inspect and installs free smoke alarms to residents.
Volunteers will need to arrive by 3:30pm at the American Red Cross Office, (1510 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202), to retrieve their Red Cross vest and door hangers. Afterwards teams will be assigned as the designated team member will drive to the pre-canvass neighborhood.
Pre-Canvassing will occur at the neighborhoods of Brightwood & Hillside
