What is Quest for the West and what role do volunteers play?
Currently in its 19th year, Quest for the West Art Show and Sale brings together 50 contemporary Western artists, collectors, volunteers, and Western art enthusiasts from across the country for a weekend of programming that includes the museum’s largest annual fundraiser. Weekend activities include field trips to visit local collectors, a reception in honor of the Quest Artist of Distinction, a miniature art sale, luncheon, tours, featured art sale, banquet and awards ceremony, and more!
Consider volunteering for one of many opportunities leading up to and during the event, including registration, prepping bid boxes and materials, assisting with the miniature sale, art sale assistant during the featured art sale on Saturday night, or helping with check out. Regardless of the position, volunteers play a vital role in the success of the event…in other words; we could not do it without you!
What’s in it for you?
As a volunteer during the main event on Saturday evening, you will be assigned to one of the 50 artists in the show. This means you get the unique opportunity to meet, talk with, and represent one of the top Western artists in the country and rub shoulders with others. Many artists return year after year and appreciate the long-term friendships formed with patrons and volunteers during the weekend event. Likewise, many volunteers return year after year and request to work with the same artist after hitting it off at Quest for the West or after admiring an artist’s work from afar.
Your work also helps support the museum’s largest annual fundraiser, which means we can continue to offer events and programs throughout the year that inspire and delight audiences of all ages and backgrounds. And, after all is said and done on Saturday evening, you can swap stories with fellow volunteers while enjoying a catered meal by Kahn’s Catering in the museum café. Of course, you’ll also have our unwavering gratitude for sharing your time and talents in support of the event!
