About the Event

The IndyFringe Festival is an 11-day festival centered around Mass Ave that happens every August. 64 performing groups are featured at 8 different venues, with over 384 individual performance. The festival is uncensored and unjuried, and usually features about 50% local and 50% out of town performing groups. 80% of ticket revenue is returned to the performer, and over the past 10 years, IndyFringe has returned $1,151,000 to performers. The Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival is a riotous celebration of theatre old and new, edgy and not-so edgy.
IndyFringe exists to encourage, support and assist independent artists by providing an accessible, affordable outlet that draws diverse elements of the community together and inspires creative experience through the arts.

Volunteer Details

We have a variety of positions to fill that include working the box offices at each of the theatres, which would be selling tickets, processing credit card transactions, interacting with the public and customer service, House Managers act as ticket takers, ushers and sometimes announce the performance, depending ion what the performer chooses, working the ticket booth, which would be selling advance tickets to the shows and processing credit card transactions and bartenders at our beer tent and also at the IndyFringe Theatres.

The shift on the IA website is generic.  Please go to the Indy Fringe website for specific shifts to signup for.  Attending an orientation is required and training dates are July 31st, August 6th, 7th, 10th & 13th.

Fringe T-shirt, name badge will be provided. Free shows for all volunteers that have signed up for a shifts on the Monday night of the festival + additional tickets earned for every shift worked.

Volunteer Attire

Black or khaki slacks, shorts or skirts. Jeans OK if they are not torn, Fringe T-Shirt – provided
