Indy Film Fest
April 24th thru 28th

The Indy Film Fest is looking for volunteers to help patrons, filmmakers, and other guests attending the 21st Indy Film Fest’s in-person events on April 24-28 at theaters in downtown Indianapolis.

All volunteers get an exclusive Indy Film Fest volunteer t-shirt, plus tickets to see films and merchandise. 

Volunteer Roles:

• Box Office: Help sell tickets, merchandise, and answer patron questions. 
• Ticket Agents: Stationed outside the theater. Scans tickets and passes to make sure patrons make it into the correct theaters.
• Theater Operations: Works closely with the projectionist to monitor the screening for any technical issues. Responsible for making sure theaters are in good shape before each screening. Checks lights, mics, and sound issues.
• Theater Captain: Seasoned volunteer role. Shift point-person. Will know where other volunteers are and handle potential customer-service issues as they arise.  
• *Projectionist: Responsible for starting the films, adjusting sound, handling lights. They stay in the theater throughout the whole film and their role cannot overlap with anything else.
• Special Events: Volunteers who help with parties including setup, tear-down, ticket taking, etc.

Here are a couple of items to keep in mind to help you structure your festival experience.

1. We are showing movies at two locations this year: Kan-Kan Cinema and Living Room Theatres.
2. Shift times may vary depending on where you’re volunteering. This was done to best accommodate you and the theater’s scheduling needs.
3. Projectionist shifts are for those who have been trained in the equipment. If you would like to volunteer in this area, and have not been trained, let them know.
4. There are separate sign-ups for opening and closing night parties. Opening night will be at Mayfair Taproom, and closing night will be at Circle City Industrial Complex.
