Riverside is a play by ML Roberts, developed in partnership with The New Harmony Project. Inspired by the desire to honor the history of the area, and the generous welcoming collaborative spirit of so many neighborhood residents, we asked ML (who played Hamlet in our first production in Riverside Park) to research the history and conduct interviews with area residents, chief among them, Phyllis Hackett.
The resulting play, Riverside, developed in partnership with the New Harmony Project and directed by Rudi Goblen, tells part of the story of Black Indianapolis from the perspective of a single family line in 3 different decades, the 1820’s the 1920’s and the 1960’s. We hope you’ll join us for this performance-meets-community event!
