About the Event

The 500 Festival, a not-for-profit volunteer organization, was created in 1957 to organize civic events celebrating the greatest race in the world. Over the past 60+ years, the 500 Festival has grown to become one of the largest festivals in the nation.

Each year, 500,000 Hoosiers and visitors participated in festival activities throughout the month of May. Whether they were athletes running the Mini, fourth grade students participating in the Education Program, families enjoying the state’s largest festival for kids, or spectators being dazzled by one of the nation’s premier parades, they were there, celebrating the legacy.

Volunteer with us this year at the OneAmerica 500 Festival Min-Marathon. We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities available and would love to add you to our roster!

Volunteer Details

There are many volunteer opportunities; Airport Ambassador, Beer ID checkers, Finish Line Distribution (bananas, bottled water, bags)  Each opportunity has different shifts and requirements.  See the website for details.  Please register with event and also on Indyambassadors website.  You must pick up volunteer material (tshirt, commerative pen, and two tickets to volunteer appreciation event) the week before event, April 27.
