Romantic Chopin with the Indianapolis Symphony

Nov 12, 2016, 5:00 PM - 9:30 PM

presented by Donna Finney

About the Event

It was a young, desperate love that inspired this concerto by Fryderyk Chopin. Too shy to declare his feelings, he wrote: “I say to my piano what I would like to be saying to you…” Rising, young keyboard titan Jan Lisiecki performs this ardent declaration.ABOUT JAN LISIECKI

Just 20 years old, Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki has won acclaim for his extraordinary interpretive maturity, distinctive sound, and poetic sensibility. The New York Times has called him “a pianist who makes every note count.” Lisiecki’s insightful interpretations, refined technique, and natural affinity for art give him a musical voice that belies his age.
