The primary duties for a Center Usher are to greet our patrons and assist with seating at performances. At times, you will be asked to stuff programs or participate in a rental event, such as Galas, weddings, etc. You will not be guaranteed a seat but at most performances at the Studio and Tarkington, you will usually get to see the entire performance. At the Palladium, our ushers graciously take turns. You will be required to learn each venue and the seating, but always at your own pace. We are there to help you and we have a wonderful mentoring program to assist you as well.
Shifts vary depending on the venue where you are serving, but most performances are in the evening. This will be discussed at orientation. Shifts are usually 3-4 hours depending on the venue.
If you are interested in joining our Volunteer Usher Team, we ask that you please first go to our website and fill out the registration form, http://www.thecenterpresents.org.
Our next orientation is August 21st. You will receive more information regarding this after filling out the form. Email is required for correspondence and scheduling purposes. We hope you can join us!
Please contact Sharon Holyoak, sholyoak@thecenterpresents.org, 317-819-3524, if you have questions and to let her know you will be attending.
After signing up with The Center for the Performing Arts, please also sign up on the Indianapolis Ambassadors’ website.
