Volunteer Needs

Evening Lot Check In – Volunteers will arrive at the lot (on the northeast side of Indianapolis) by 5:45 p.m.

Duties include:

  • Checking in clients
  • Passing out amenity kits (hygiene and snack items)
  • Orienting the clients to the lot and the indoor space available to them if it’s their first time in the lot
  • Make note of any client needs to pass onto the Safe Park Indy leadership team
  • Chat with clients and get to know them, if they want to have conversation

Evening volunteers are done once all clients are checked in, or by 8:00 p.m. (whichever comes first).

No special equipment or knowledge is needed. We are looking for 1-2 volunteers each night. A brief virtual training is required. Volunteers may bring children with them as long as they are supervised at all times.
